ONE ON WINE
Chateau Lafite, One of the most sought-after Bordeaux wines in the world - Starting from, HKD HK$5,000.00

Château Lafite Rothschild is a First Growth Bordeaux estate in Pauillac, famous for Cabernet Sauvignon–based blends. The wine is celebrated for its aromatic elegance and finesse, with flavours of cassis, red berries, tobacco and cedar, combining delicacy with underlying power and long ageing capacity.

Château Lafite’s story begins in the Middle Ages, when the lands at Pauillac were already recorded under the name Lafite in the 13th century, long before the estate became famous for wine. In the 17th–18th centuries the Ségur family planted most of the vineyards and refined the winemaking; their wines became known at the courts of Europe as “the King’s wine,” even attracting Thomas Jefferson as a loyal customer.

The French Revolution ended Ségur ownership, the estate passed through Dutch merchants and other families, and then, in 1868, Baron James de Rothschild purchased Lafite, attaching his name to create Château Lafite Rothschild and ushering in a new era of investment and prestige. Since then, successive Rothschild generations have guided the château through phylloxera, world wars and economic crises, rebuilding after occupation and cellar plundering in World War II and modernising in the late 20th century, while keeping Lafite a symbol of Bordeaux elegance and one of the most coveted wines in the world.
