A mild hint of reduction shaves the top notes from the pretty combination of spice, acacia blossom and citrus aromas. The sleek and quite finely detailed flavors possess an excellent sense of tension that adds appeal to the sophisticated mouth feel and particularly so on the mineral-driven and well-balanced finale.

Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting, Jobard´s 2014 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières has a fresh, quite detailed bouquet—very expressive with hints of dried honey, walnut and smoke once it gets past the sulfur. This is nuanced at first but gains intensity in the glass. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry, detailed and generous with hints of dried pineapple, red apple and walnut, long and tender on the finish. It takes a while to get its act together...but it does (eventually).

(very little hail here): Pale yellow. Reticent aromas of lemon and lime. Pure, racy and stylish, with captivating limey lift to the middle palate. Finishes with vibrant floral and spice notes and noteworthy finesse. Strong material here but this wine will need patience.
