Tasting Notes
The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Becksto!er To- Kalon Vineyard is supple and juicy, qualities that will be best appreciated on the early side. It o!ers tons of forward appeal, if not quite the dimension, power of intensity of the best years. There´s no way to get past the challenges of the brutal heat here.
These 2022 Cabernet Sauvignons from Realm provide a good opportunity to examine how various sites performed in what was a very challenging vintage. I thought the Farella Cabernet Sauvignon fared best in 2022, in line with many wines from Coombsville that are especially strong. Ultimately, though, the 2022s represent a point in a long-term trajectory that is among the most impressive in Napa Valley. Realm started as a virtual brand with no physical assets. Today, under the leadership of Scott Becker and Benoit Touquette, Realm has acquired numerous estate vineyards and winemaking facilities, assets that eliminate questions about future viability that impact so many other wineries.
