Once again soft wood can be found on the exuberantly spicy aromas of poached plum, cassis and pretty violet aromas. The lacy but decidedly punchy medium-bodied flavors possess a sleek and well-detailed mouthfeel while the lingering, balanced and youthfully austere finale where a mineral character slowly emerges. Lovely and worth considering.
Score: 89-92 Allen Meadow (AM), Bourghound (BH), January 2024
The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Village comes from various small blocks. It o!ers a mixture of red and black fruit on the nose, a light marine influence here. It’s prettier than the Gevrey and perhaps more sensual by comparison (possibly atouch more ethyl acetate from the whole bunches). The palate is medium-bodied and a little tighter than expected, quite peppery towards the finish, which shows a quasi-Morey structure. It should age well in bottle, though there´s a little unruliness at the moment.
Score: 87-89 Neal Martin (NM), Vinous Media (VM), January 2024
Bursting with aromas of raspberries, petals and orange zest, the 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Village is medium to full-bodied, supple and satiny, with a pretty core of fruit and a lively, mineral finish.
Score: 89-90 William Kelley (WK), The Wine Advocate (WA), January 2024
